The program at the Landsmót is full and varied,
and everyone should be able to find something of interest.
There are various classes of competition ranging from the children’s class, with riders 13 years and younger, up to the A and B classes.
Other entertainment is also available in the form of music, dancing, singing and mixing with an international crowd of horse enthusiasts.
ÍH-Travel offer various packages to Landsmót, depending on client´s wishes. Whether you want to stay the whole week and enjoy all the programme or just see the best of the best during the weekend from 29.06.-01.07.
Accommodation is pre-booked at hotel Reykjavik Natura **** but can be anything from camping at the showground to staying at a 4 star hotel in Reykjavik.
You can combine a visit to Landsmót with exciting sightseeing tours in Iceland, either day tours from Reykjavik or explore Iceland on your own with rental car.
Riding is not a problem! We offer riding tours at the showgrounds as well as from our Riding centre in Hafnarfjörður. You can even ride from Hafnarfjörður to Landsmót. You could also join our adventurous longer riding tours before or after Landsmót.
Suggestion for a 5 nights tour to Reykjavik during Landsmót:
Wed 27th June: Welcome to Iceland
Arrival at Keflavik airport. Transfer by Fly-Bus to your accommodation in Reykjavik.
Thu 28th June: Riding to Landsmót
Free morning to enjoy Reykjavik. Bus transfer to Íshestar Riding Centre in Hafnarfjörður where we go riding to Víðidalur showground. The riding tour is approx 2-3 hours, horses to suit everyone. Enjoy the program at Landsmót until evening. Transfer to your accommodation by city bus.
Fri 29th June: Whale Watching - Blue Lagoon - Landsmót (evening program)
Whale Watching tour from Reykjavik in the morning followed by transfer to the Blue Lagoon to take a dip in the warm mineral water before going to the showgrounds to enjoy the Landsmót evening program.
Sat 30th June: Full day at Landsmót
Enjoy the riding programs, shops, activites, entertainment, dancing etc.
Sun 01st July: Full day at Landsmót - Golden Circle (optional)
Enjoy the finals until approx 16:00. Possibiltiy to book an evening tour to the Golden Circle.
Mon 02nd July: Back home or discover more of Iceland
