The Icelandic horse, snow and ice are fascinating phenomenon that you meet at Lake Mývatn, which is by many considered the most beautiful and at the same time the most catastrophic area in Iceland. Bubbling mud flats, volcanic craters, newborn lava fields, and grassy shoals teeming with waterfowl are among the sights of the striking Lake Myvatn region. Mývatn open has become one of the most popular tölt competition on Ice with Icelandic horse owners, so you will witness all the best horses in Iceland dancing tölt on the frozen lake.
Thursday 09.March: Welcome to Iceland—Going North
Arrival in Reykjavík, flight to North-Iceland. Arrival in Mývatn area in the afternoon, dinner and relaxing evening.
Friday 10.March: Lake Mývatn—Nature Bath
Excursion around Lake Mývatn, Dimmuborgir, Hverir, Grjótagjá, Höfði and Skútustaðagígar. The whole group will ride on the frozen ice of Lake Myvatn. The tour will start from the hotel at 15:00 and ride on the frozen Lake Mývatn with some refreshments out on the ice. After the riding tour a nice natural bath in the Mývatn nature baths will be well accepted. Bar-evening at Sel – Hótel Mývatn.
Saturday 11.March: Horse racing on ice.

Sunday 12.March: Flight to Reykjavík
